Alex Raban

Growing up I worked in my dad's pizza business on the Central Coast. Flipping pies, riding bikes, and eventually making films.

I got into filmmaking through BMX. Around 2001 I started filming my friends riding and couldn't stop. That turned into Roll Wit Us, a full-length BMX DVD I shot, edited, and put out myself. I didn't go to film school. I just kept making things.

Eventually I found my way into narrative and comedy work with my partner Jenny Gosnell. We started Room For Cream Films in 2018. We have been building it ever since, working with brands, nonprofits, independent directors, up and down the Central Coast.

A lot of what I do is collaborative. I've worked as a DP for other directors, brought projects to life with local crews, and built ongoing relationships with brands, agencies, and filmmakers across the region. The Central Coast has a real creative community. And I've been lucky to be part of it.
